Many moons ago, when I was just a young and influenceable teen, I came across and read the Kybalion, and my life has never been the same. Since then I have read and re-read the very small and profound book many times over. Within its pages it presents 7 simple, yet infinitely complex principles or laws concerning the ways of creation, one of those being the Law of Rhythm. It states as follows:
“Everything flows out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything; the measure of the swing to the right, is the measure of the swing to the left; rhythm compensates.” — The Kybalion.
Even though this philosophical psalm was written originally in ancient times, these ideas are not only confirmed by science, it’s really nothing new or unfamiliar. But how does it translate into our lives, consciousness, and ultimately our projected reality? The simplest way to witness it in action is in patterns within our lives and our loved ones lives. We all have known someone either directly or indirectly who tends towards certain behavior, constructive or destructive. However large the gap, we experience equal amounts of good day/bad day (relatively speaking). Some people can be stuck in the singular swing of the pendulum for an entire lifetime! Don’t get me wrong, behavioral patterns do play a role, and through perception we ultimately control that (which is vibrational, but that’s another posting). But do not underestimate the power of Rhythm and the effect it has on your life. How is it, for example, that one friend, family member, or maybe yourself, always manages to meet the wrong type of person relationship wise, or even abusive? Why does it always seem that the buck passes you bye, seemly eternally stuck in a pattern of scarcity? So on and so on, stories or complaints we hear all too often, especially in today’s economy. So what we see then is a boon in books, seminars, tapes, and so forth for things like “the law of attraction” and similar themes. People desperately try and attract a different situation for their lives so they can break out of these patterns. But here’s the problem with this approach – even if you manage to attract to you some form of abundance, the Rhythm (and ultimately the vibration of what has been your entire life) will either cancel out your effort, or maybe even give a little, only to end up right back where you started.
These ideas ultimately lead me to the meditation…”Can a person’s entire life have a rhythm”? Being that the law of Rhythm cannot be changed, are we stuck or doomed to follow its flow throughout our lives without hope for change? Are we literally born into a set state? Arguably, for at least this parallel, and in this timeline, (which in the 3rd dimensional perspective is the only one we can see) we are opposed to other choice timelines. But, not all hope is lost, we can in a way, break free.
As the Kybalion (and science) states, you cannot change or manipulate the laws of creation/nature. What you can do is use one law against another to end up with the desired results. The law that you want to get familiar and friendly with Is not attraction, but vibration. This is the law that can change the frequency of your timeline, your pattern, your Rhythm. Ultimately allowing you to rise above the swing of the pendulum and remain in a solid state (of positive rather than negative). This is where true power resides, as it is stated:
“Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”

Science has shown us that all things are matter, all matter are particles, and all particles are energy that vibrates, everything moves, everything vibrates. From the micro to the macro this law stands true. What we now need to realize is that we also vibrate.
Have you ever walked into a room where there is a severe argument taking place? Someone would then say, “You could cut the tension with a knife in here”. This is vibration in action. What we feel and think we vibrate and those vibrations create Rhythm. So this then creates the challenge of changing your Rhythm for your timeline (lifetime). One day just won’t undo a lifetime (or even many) which is why so many people have expressed frustration in trying the law of attraction. As with affirmations, try as people may, either they are not getting results, or the results are small, not nearly all of what they called for. Does this change their whole lives the way they wanted? Typically no.
So now what you ask? If you are really interested in changing your life into what you always dreamed it could be, should be, it needs to be taken in multiple steps with respect to time. Time is your key, since it’s on the 4th, 5th and 6th dimension that needs to be accessed in order to shift your timeline.
First things first, a deeper understanding of vibration, this of course could be an article all unto itself, but to stay on purpose I will narrow it down to relevancy and simplicity. When we experience a “feeling” we vibrate at the appropriate frequency. Have you ever noticed when someone is either very happy or angry they give off a “vibe”? Either glowing with light or burning with spite, these “vibrations”, like ripples on a pond, send out waves to the universe. As manifestation occurs from the top down, these vibrations are the energy required to manifest (or attract). This for example is more simply experienced when you say stub your toe getting out of bed in the morning; this is then followed by a whole string of “bad Luck” occurrences, ultimately ending in a day where one would say “I should have never gotten out of bed this morning!” With that in mind this is why it’s so important to not just be aware of what you are thinking, but more importantly, what you are feeling/vibrating! This is where the law of attraction and affirmations drop off. Simply repeating an affirmation over and over has very little effect. But take that same affirmation out of thinking and move it into knowing, feel and vibrate that knowing, and waves of vibrational energy will resonate into the infinite creative universe where the six degrees of separation and synchronicities do their magic. It’s important to remember: Simply changing your vibration for the moment will no more change the rhythmic pattern of your life than say making a singular healthy choice at lunch will make you automatically hit your target goal weight for example. It’s a lifestyle change, habitual shift, a complete overhaul of your perspective (which I will talk about in a coming article). This vibrational frequency has to be something that sets up house within your everyday awareness. Make it a habit to be constantly aware of what energy you are emitting, happy, sad, abundant or scarce, do what you have to do in the only moment that exist, now, to change the channel to the appropriate frequency. Within your mind change the conversation, make a conscious effort to be always in the proper time frame. In the beginning, understanding this element of knowing can be challenging to the neophyte. As what most often is asked is “If I try to feel happy, when I know I am angry, aren’t I just lying to myself?” Not at all, and soon enough the truth of the matter will make perfect sense. How we think and feel is and always were a choice. It’s directly related to perspective. Life is 99.9% perception. Make no mistake about it, you choose how to feel, how to react, how to think and thereby what to vibrate. Just try and remember, Rome was not built in a day. As with all things slow and steady wins the race. As the ancient Chinese proverb states: The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. When one starts to accept and realize that it’s the journey, and not the destination, you will find true success and happiness.
